Museum-apartment of T.G. Shevchenko

The memorial workshop of T.G. Shevchenko is the only museum exposition in St. Petersburg, representing the work of an outstanding cultural figure of the XIX century. Based on the memoirs of contemporaries (N. Leskov, I. Turgenev, etc.), the atmosphere of the workshop with the attributes of the painter and engraver (in copies and analogues of Shevchenko’s personal belongings) was reconstructed. Originals of graphic works, copies and reproductions of paintings of all periods of Shevchenko’s work are concentrated in the museum. Here are books about the life and work of the artist, early editions of his poetry. The subject-picture series allows you to tell in detail about the artistic work of the outstanding Ukrainian poet.
