About the company:

The Museum of the History of St. Petersburg Brick was founded in SPbSU in 1991. The opening of the museum was preceded by a 30-year study of the state of brick structures, residential buildings, industrial structures and architectural monuments of St. Petersburg. The new exposition, which opened at the end of October 2011, included more than 400 samples of St. Petersburg wall ceramics, produced from the beginning of the foundation of St. Petersburg until the end of the XIX century. The museum also presents reproductions of drawings and engravings reflecting the brick production of the XVIII-XIX centuries, photographs of buildings and structures built by St. Petersburg architects who worked at the university in the middle of the XIX century. The collection of exhibits for the museum continues and is a kind of archaeology associated with the study of building ceramics. Having reopened its doors to visitors, the St. Petersburg Brick Museum will be of interest to students, teachers and university staff, as well as schoolchildren, teachers, historians, architects, restorers, builders, local historians and ceramists. The museum hosts thematic lectures on the history of brick production.
