About the company:
The Labor Glory Museum of the Joint Stock Company of the St. Petersburg Maritime Bureau of Mechanical Engineering Malachite (JSC SPMBM Malachite) was opened on November 5, 1986. The basis for its creation was the order No322 of 24.12.1968, the Minister of shipbuilding industry B.E. Butoma "On the preparation of materials for the history of domestic shipbuilding."
JSC SPMBM Malachit is a design bureau specializing in the design of submarines, underwater technical means and deep-sea vehicles. The Bureau was established in 1948. Within its walls were created projects of strategic submarine chief designer N. N. Isanin, which was made the world's first launch of ballistic missile chief designer S. P. Korolev in 1955 and the first Soviet nuclear submarine chief designer V. N. Peregudov, built in 1958.
Initially, the museum was located in three exposition halls that covered the main types of production activities of the bureau and presented people who created unique samples of military marine equipment. In 2018, the 70th anniversary of the museum exposition bureau was completely updated, another hall was added and the museum received four independent rooms of the thematic exposition, connected in a single semantic space. They were: the solemn entrance (hall No. 1) - the grand staircase, the beginning of the exposition spaces; the large hall No. 2 - the central and main part of the exposition; the "museum room" (hall No. 3) - a collection of archival models of the bureau's projects; the corridor space (hall No. 4) - a gallery of photos of the main implemented projects created in the bureau and the current management staff. For each of the premises, a visual reception was created within the framework of the semantic context.
The joint exhibition space shows the history of the bureau through people, projects and events in this story.
The quality of the materials presented in the exposition was highly appreciated by the President of the USSR Academy of Sciences A. P. Alexandrov and Professor N. S. Koroleva, the daughter of academician S. P. Korolev in the book of reviews of museum visitors.
