About the company:
Museum-estate of Ilya Repin "Penaty" is located 45 kilometers from St. Petersburg, in the village of Repino (formerly Kuokkola) on the coast of the Gulf of Finland.
It was here that Ilya Repin (1844-1930) lived the last 30 years of his life and wished to be buried. Opened in 1939, the museum became one of the first memorial museums in the country under the auspices of the Russian Academy of Arts.
During the war, the manor buildings were badly damaged, they were restored in the 1950-1960s. Now in the museum you can see the personal belongings of the artist, his paintings and drawings, as well as the works of his son Yuri and other Russian painters. In total, in "Penaty" there are about 600 paintings and graphics.
The house retains the memorial appearance of the rooms that bear the imprint of the tastes and habits of the owner: workshop, dining room, office, veranda.
A visit to the museum includes acquaintance with the exposition, viewing the old newsreels that captured Ilya Repin in his house, visiting the memorial park and the surrounding area, which inspired many Russian artists and writers.
In connection with the beginning of the preparatory stage of work on the preservation of the object of cultural heritage of federal importance "House of Residential", the main exposition of the Museum-Estate of I. E. Repin "Penaty" is closed to the public. The updated exposition is scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2026!
