About the company:

St. Petersburg Museum of Toys, the first private museum of the city, was established in 1997.

The St. Petersburg Museum of Toys was created as a museum designed to collect, store, exhibit and study the toy not only as a unique phenomenon of material culture, but also as a special art form in which ancient national traditions and the most modern artistic trends are intertwined. In the twentieth century, the toy entered the world of great art, got the opportunity to have the status of an artistic work. It was at this time that the special importance of children's toys was finally recognized both for aesthetic education and for the development and education of the child. Therefore, in the museum, the toy is not only exhibited, but also “lives”: it participates in performances, is created at master classes, becomes a subject of discussion at lectures. The museum has constantly expanding collections of both Russian and foreign toys - folk, industrial, author's; regularly holds exhibitions of author's artistic dolls and toys, as well as rare thematic collections from private collections. The museum conducts scientific, research and restoration work, excursions and classes for children and adults. The staff of the St. Petersburg Toy Museum is open for cooperation and joint projects, willingly conducts various visiting events and participates in city events.
