Scarlet Sails

On one of the shortest nights of June, the sky lights up with a magical light and under the thunder of fireworks and enthusiastic exclamations appears, as if from a fairy tale, a frigate of hope.

If you decide to stay in the northern capital during this period, then you are simply obliged to see a fantastic performance in the waters of the Neva. This is the only national holiday of this scale included in the register of events of world tourism.

The first celebrations took place in Leningrad in 1968 and lasted until 1979, when they were banned. The bright tradition was revived in two thousand and five and made a real furor, becoming for many years a companion of white nights and a landmark event for St. Petersburg. During this time, several sailboats changed, this time we saw the solemn appearance of the ship "tre cronor".

Graduates of more than 30,000 have received original invitations in advance. Only such tickets could pass to the Palace Square. For others, the historical center of St. Petersburg was inaccessible. But on the opposite bank of the Neva could easily get everyone. Traditionally, many tourists watched the show from the water surface.

This year it was possible to note the unusual design of the Trinity Bridge, the participation of air acrobats in the performance, the original musical range. But it is impossible to talk about this day with dry facts, because the holiday "Scarlet Sails" is first of all a stunning atmosphere of magic, hope for the future, faith in one's own strength. Despite the cool and damp June, on a festive night there was no rain, so St. Petersburgers and guests of the city could enjoy the grand extravaganza to the fullest. Throughout the night, walks continued, people, regardless of age, felt inspired and positive attitude.
