Legend of the monument to Suvorov
Description:
There are many legends about the sights of St. Petersburg, and one of them is associated with the monument to Suvorov. During World War II, many monuments were dismantled and hidden in special storage facilities so that they would not be destroyed in the process of bombing. But the monument to the famous commander remained in its place. Soldiers saluted Alexander Vasilyevich going to the front line – they selflessly believed that as long as he stands in his place, the city will withstand everything. However, later, when the intensity of the bombing increased, the monument decided to evacuate and hide in the basement of a nearby house, near Suvorov Square.
But the night before that, something mysterious happened. One of the organizers of the evacuation dreamed of our commander. He warned and sternly assured that he was never afraid of anything. Not in life, and even after death. He doesn’t even want to hear about evacuation. Therefore, the monument decided to leave in its place. And it did not suffer the slightest damage, although Leningrad was bombed quite intensively for a long time. And the house where the monument to Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov was going to be evacuated was destroyed during the bombing.
That's the story.
