Revolutionary Square
Russia, Mordovian Republic, Saratov, intersection of Moscow and Republican streets
Description:
Saransk is a culturally developed city, where there are many parks, alleys for walks and squares. One of these beautiful places to relax is the square of the Fighters of the Revolution.
The square was founded in 1951 at the intersection of Moscow and Republican streets. Here, from Soviet Square, the remains of fighters for the revolution were transferred and reburied. On the hill there was an obelisk on which stood a five-pointed star. On the ground lay a plate engraved with the names of revolutionary fighters.
On the eve of the 60th anniversary of the Great October, the square was reconstructed: a huge amount of greenery was planted and flower beds with flowers were broken. New benches have been installed. In the center of the square, on an earthen hill there is a monument to “Fighters for Soviet power”.
The new square is always full of vacationers, because there is peace and quiet.
