Lake Inerca
Russia, Mordovia, Bolshebereznikovsky District
Description:
If we are talking about the picturesque places of Mordovia, it is simply impossible not to remember the most beautiful lake – Inerca. It is located in the valley of the river Sura, about seventy kilometers from Saransk. In Mordovian, the name of the lake “Inerka” means “Great Lake”.
This name is quite consistent with the characteristics of the lake, as its total area reaches 44 hectares, and the length of three kilometers and a width of two hundred meters, give it the right to be so called. The inerca has an elongated shape, and the transparency of the water, which persists at a depth of two meters, allows many waterfowl, such as terns and pilgrims, to live and nest.
The lake always attracts many tourists and locals, especially bright and colorful Inerka looks during the flowering of water lilies. No less fascinating panorama is formed around the lake: coniferous and deciduous forests give an amazing aroma and purity to the air, and they are also the residence of deer, owls, eagles, wihucholi and other inhabitants of the fauna.
Lake Inerka refers to natural monuments of republican significance. In addition, various mass events, competitions and concerts are often held on the lake.
