Description:
The Mordovian Republican Children's Library is the main center dealing with information, research and reference issues. It serves children and adolescents who are provided with psychological, pedagogical and sociological reading materials.
The library was opened in 1960 and unites many departments serving students of grades 1-4, 5-8, departments of acquisition and processing of literature, methodical and book storage fund. In total, the library has about 15 departments.
The library fund consists of 200 thousand books, 10 thousand films, 4 thousand records and 400 titles of periodicals.
To simplify the work of the library staff, and speedy maintenance, a local telecommunications network has been created. All conditions are organized for students to prepare reports, abstracts. Book exhibitions, various competitions and literary evenings are regularly held.
In addition, the library contributes to the methodological equipment of children's, rural and school libraries, performs a coordinating function. Seminars, trainings, workshops are held here.
