"Victory Park" on Sokolovaya Hill in the city of Saratov
Description:
The question of establishing the Victory Park arose in 1975. The government happily approved the idea of creating an open-air gallery of military equipment. Seven years later, on Sokolovaya Hill, where rare cars were gradually brought, a monument to Cranes was erected. The author of the project was Y.I. Menyakin. Its height is just over 40 meters. The monument is a huge stele, at the top of which 12 cranes are attached.
To date, more than 100 exhibits have been collected in the park. These are tanks, aircraft, ships, helicopters, missiles, anti-aircraft guns and much more.
A few years ago, the National Village was opened in the park. This is a small street on which houses are built each in its national color. You can see the Ukrainian hut, Kazakh yurt, Tatar farmstead, Georgian courtyard and others.
Also on the territory of Sokolovaya mountain opened the Museum of military glory.
