The grand opening of the monument took place on August 14, 2009. The project was sponsored by MegaFon, which then celebrated its decade. The sculpture is a bronze young man waiting with flowers for his beloved. Symbolizes unmarried guys from the most popular Saratov song "Lights so many golden".

The watch on the lantern under which the young man stands plays the song motif every 15 minutes. The author of the monument is the local sculptor Nikolai Bunin. The monument was perceived skeptically by old-timers, but is very popular with young people and tourists. It has become a tradition for girls to be photographed on hand with a bronze boy.
