Monument of Saratov Harmony
Description:
The official opening of the monument coincided with a big holiday in Saratov - City Day. It was a kind of gift from the patrons. The author of the project was V. Palmin.
The monument is a bronze figure of a man in the national Russian folk costume: a painted shirt and a beret with a flower on its side. In his hands, the musician holds the harmony, stretching furs. Twice a day, a melody is played from hidden speakers hidden in a bronze musical instrument.
Why the Harmony Monument? It's very simple! The city of Saratov was the first in Russia, where they began to produce this famous tool. It began to be assembled in 1855 using a special technology that only local craftsmen knew.
