Zhigulyov brewery

Volga Avenue, 4, Samara, Samara region, 443010

Description:

Zhigulev Brewery is one of the oldest breweries in our country.

It was built in 1881 by the Austrian citizen Alfred von Wacano. There was a plant on the banks of the Volga in Samara. It was here that the famous Zhigulev beer was originally brewed.

The history of the plant began on February 6, 1880, when Alfred von Vacano filed a petition with the Samara government for the lease of land for the construction of a new brewery. By 1914, factories were brewing three and a half million buckets of beer a year. The association of plants was the third largest breweries in Russia. Warehouses of the plant were located in 59 cities of the Volga region, Central Asia, the Urals and Siberia. The products have won 15 medals at international exhibitions. But that year, the Prohibition was declared and the plant was mothballed, and Alfred von Wacano was sent to Buzuluk under police supervision because he was suspected of espionage.

In October 1916, the production of beer with a fortress of one and a half degrees was started.

In 1992, the company was transformed into a limited liability partnership "Zhigulevsky beer". In 1992, Zhigulevskoye Beer LLP registered the right to the Zhigulevskoye trademark. In 1997, the LLP was transformed into the Open Joint Stock Company "Zhigulevskaya beer". On May 17, 2000, Rospatent cancelled the registration of the Zhigulevskaya beer trademark.
