Pavel Kuznetsov House-Museum

Saratov region, Saratov, str. October, 56

About the company:

The date of construction of the estate refers to the end of the XIX century. The house and the plot originally belonged to the parents of P.V. Kuznetsov Varfolomey Fedorovich and Evdokia Illarionovna Kuznetsov. At the end of the XX century, the building was almost completely destroyed. In 1988, the site and the dilapidated building were transferred to the A.N. Radishchev Museum for the reconstruction of the museum of the artist, who spent his childhood and youth in the house of his parents.

In 2000, the reconstruction was completed, the museum became accessible to visitors. The museum building is of interest as a sample of the dwelling of representatives of the philistine environment of Saratov in the late XIX - early XX century. The museum is, first of all, the center of popularization of the work of Pavel Kuznetsov himself - the generally recognized leader of the famous in the early XIX century symbolist association "Blue Rose", as well as the work of his friends and the life of his closest associates. The museum continues the traditions of the artist, being an active center, patronizing artists, representing contemporary art in Saratov.
