Museum-estate of N. G. Chernyshevsky

The museum is located on the territory of the former estate of Chernyshevsky and Pypin. The complex includes memorial buildings: the house of the Chernyshevsky family, the wing of O.S. Chernyshevskaya, the house of the Pypins, closely related to the Chernyshev family, the Pypin wing and the administrative building, in which the monographic historical and literary exposition “Decent Son of the Fatherland” is deployed.

The museum complex on the territory of the urban provincial estate of the first half of the XIX century preserves the culture of the different estate, this determines its uniqueness. The memorial and household exposition of the Chernyshevsky house reveals the life of the family of a provincial priest, in which the gifted boy grew up, by museum means. A picturesque estate with buildings of the XIX century, a simple, cozy, strict house, things that keep the memory of its inhabitants, unique memorial exhibits, a high level of excursion service - all this makes the museum attractive for wide layers of visitors.
