Saratov Ethnographic Museum

Saratov region, Saratov, str. Ulyanovskaya, 26

About the company:

It was opened as the “Ulyanov Family Apartment Museum” in 1969 as a branch of the Saratov Regional Museum of Local History. In 1993, this branch was transformed into the Saratov Ethnographic Museum. It is located in a two-storey building built by the XIX - early XX century, which is a monument of history and culture - an object of cultural heritage.

The house is connected with the life and revolutionary activities of the Ulyanov family. In one of the apartments of the house from the spring of 1911 to August 1912 lived the mother and sisters of V.I. Ulyanov-Lenin. In the Soviet years, the building for a long time was an apartment building.

The branch does not have its own funds. The museum exhibits from the funds of the Saratov Regional Museum of Local History. Two permanent exhibitions tell about the folk culture of the Saratov Territory and urban life: “Peoples of the Saratov Volga Region” and “The leafy pages of the album”. In addition to the usual lectures, theatrical classes are held in the museum. Training programs for schoolchildren are constantly operating in the museum.
