Moscow region, Serpukhov, Chekhov str., 83
Description:
The Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos was built by the architect I.G. Piotrovich in 1908 at the expense of A.V. Maraeva for the Old Believer community. The church is built of red brick, reflects the pseudo-Russian style with a high bell tower. It was closed in 1930 due to a reduction in the number of people in the community, and fell into decline. Only some parts of the church fence of the 19th century with brick pillars on a white stone base have survived to this day. Near the temple there is a whole ensemble of houses of church ministers. This church is otherwise called by many Old Believers Orthodox Church. Currently, the temple is considered a branch of the historical and art Museum of Serpukhov.
Look at the monument of the Old Believer community will be very curious to all those who are interested in religion.
