Port of Serpukhov

Moscow region, the city of Serpukhov, Krasnoflot moving, 5,

Description:

The port in Serpukhovo appeared thanks to the merchant I.I. Tsipulin. He acquired four passenger and three tugboats, creating the Upper Oka fleet. In 1919 it was made national. After 20 years, the fleet was divided into four divisions. Thus, there were technical areas, the Kaluga pier, ship repair sites and the Serpukhov pier. From these two piers, cargo transportation along the Oka was mainly carried out. In 1960, the Upper Oka fleet focused on passenger tours. New vessels were purchased. The fleet of steam ships is replaced by diesel and high-speed. At the same time earned routes: Serpukhov-Kolomna, Serpukhov-Alexin, Serpukhov-Kaluga and Serpukhov-Kashir.

In parallel with passenger transportation, cargo delivery is also developing well. The park is also expanding and the technical equipment of the piers is improving. In 1962, the fleet was the only one in the Moscow region, which extracted gravel with the help of dredgers.

In 1975, the fleet was renamed OJSC "Port Serpukhov". To date, the organization arranges passenger excursion tours and carries out mineral and construction supplies in three regions: Tula, Moscow and Kaluga.
