Oak Park
shh Dubkovskoye, 59, Sestroretsk, St. Petersburg
Description:
Sestroretsk Park "Dubki" amazes with the beauty of not only the guests of the city, but also the locals themselves, who often like to visit here. In 1990, the park was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The park was created thanks to Peter the Great, who noticed the beautiful terrain in 1714, when he sailed along the Gulf of Finland. Here he created a quiet paradise, where he could relax from the lush city receptions. He built a small palace standing by the water itself, and in front of the palace he built a beautiful garden with flower beds, lawns, small ponds and canals. Now, alas, only memories remain of the former beauty of the palace and garden.
Throughout the park grow oaks that amaze with their greatness and power. Some of the trees are many, many years old. Now in the park there is a boat station, equestrian sports complex, football field, ice rink, playground, concert hall.
