Museum-monument "Shalash of Lenin in the spill"

pos. Tarkhovka, Road to Shalash Lenin, 3, letter A

Description:

Lenin’s Shalash is a historical monument on the shore of Lake Razliv, dedicated to the events of the summer of 1917, when Vladimir Ilyich Lenin and Grigory Zinoviev were hiding from the persecution of the Provisional Government.

The hut was built on the desert shore of the lake, next to the hut was equipped with a place for storing newspapers and manuscripts. In this place Lenin was hiding under the guise of a peasant working part-time during haymaking. In this hut Lenin began his work on the book The State and Revolution. Lenin was supplied with food and literature by Yemelyanov, who built the shelter. Here Zinoviev and Lenin stayed until August 1917, and then moved to Finland.

Later, in 1928, on the site of the hut by the architect A.I. Gegello, a monument was built, and in 1970, on the road leading to the museum, a sculpture “Lenin in Razliva” by V.B. Pinchuk was installed.

The monument still attracts tourists, especially foreign ones, and communist-minded figures hold rallies here.
