The museum complex is located in one of the most beautiful suburbs of St. Petersburg - Sestroretsk, 32 km from the city.

In 1917, on the picturesque shore of Lake Razliv, the leader of the world proletariat V.I. Lenin was hiding in a hut. Before that, he temporarily lived in the barn of the worker of the Sestroretsk Armory Plant N.A. Emelyanov.

Since 2006, the exhibition “From Spring to Autumn 1917” has been opened in the Shalash Museum. Historical drama.

Some excursions, by agreement, include theatrical episodes from the life of V. I. Lenin. The performers are artists of the youth museum theater “Time”.

Every year, the international scientific and practical conference “V. I. Lenin in the modern world” is held in the Shalash Museum.

A series of lectures on the history of Sestroretsk and St. Petersburg for various population groups is conducted by the leading researcher of the museum, local historian Boris Eremeevich Rivkin. He also developed a plan for thematic summer walking tours along Sestroretsk, along the picturesque shore of Lake Razliv.
