Mountain camp in Crimea

The place of our rest is sunny, bright and so picturesque eastern Crimea.
Not far from the sea town of Sudak, the group lives in a tent camp and takes daily walks lightly through local attractions. This tour perfectly combines trekking in the mountains and calm evenings on the Black Sea coast.
In May, Crimea is green, blooming, during the day it is already summer warm. And in September, these places will treat us to warm weather, velvet season and an abundance of fruits.
For 7 days of rest, we will visit the ancient Genoese fortress, walk through the Sokol, Rhinoceros, Perchem mountains, see the colorful bays of the New World, go to the Place of Power at Cape Meganom and taste real Crimean champagne at the New World champagne factory.
The route is simple, we recommend it for beginners and parents with children.

Day 1

Until 12:00 – gathering of the group in Simferopol. At the airport, a group meets near the entrance to the airport, at the railway station, a group gathering near the fountain. 14:00-14:30 - gathering of the group at the bus station in Sudak.
Transfer by minibus to Sudak (2-2.5 hours).
Settlement in a tourist parking lot. During the rest, the tent camp will be located in one place.
Duration of transition from minibus to parking: 2 minutes.
The parking lot is at an altitude of 40 m.

Ecotrope to Cape Alczak.
During the week we will live near the city of Sudak, which is located on the eastern coast of Crimea.
Sudak is known for its medieval Genoese fortress, beautiful beaches and magnificent mountains that surround it from all sides.
Today along the long embankment we will pass along the sea to Cape Alchak. This cape has something to surprise tourists! Long ago, it was a real coral reef, as evidenced by the snow-white veins of calcite. And in the middle of the twentieth century at the foot of Cape Alchak was found a real treasure of tens of kilograms of gold, Bosporan coins!
But, of course, the main treasure of Alchak is the surrounding species! The cape got a huge through hole in the rock in the form of a ring, which is called the Aeolian harp. If you look into this strange ring, you will see a beautiful panorama of the mountains of the New World and Sudak. In the distance you can see the Fortress, Rock Falcon, Eagle, Rhinoceros and Cape Kapchik, which we will visit in the coming days.
The active part of the route is 5.8 km, the height difference of 30-150 m, the duration of the route is 3-4 hours.

Day 2

The village of New World, Mount Rhinoceros, colorful bays and the Golitsyn trail.
Today we are waiting for some of the best landscapes of Eastern Crimea! It was these places that the director Heinrich Hovhannisyan chose to shoot the favorite Soviet film “Three Plus Two” here. The instructor will show the very place where the tent camp of the heroes of the film stood.
Leaving the cozy village of New World, along the hiking path we go to Rhinoceros Mountain. The highest point of the mountain is called “Peak of Space”, from here in clear weather the coast of the Crimea is perfectly visible up to Mount Ayu-Dag.
Rhinoceros Mountain is rich in interesting places: we will walk through a stone labyrinth, through narrow gorges, see a mountain refrigerator, climb the monkey stairs and go to one of the best observation decks of the Crimea! From a bird's-eye view, three colorful bays of the New World will open before us: blue, blue and green. It is breathtaking to see the beauty!!
Descending from the Rhinoceros Mountain, we will walk along these three bays and see the ancient wine library of Prince Lev Golitsyn, created in a rock grotto. At the end of the route, we are waiting for the branded champagne wine shop “New World”.

Day 3

Rock Falcon.
In the route to the rock Sokol collected a huge number of beauties: here we are waiting for a walk along an ancient coral reef, a mountain amphitheater of the New World, a photo shoot against the background of a pyramidal juniper and, of course, unforgettable views from the top of the mountain Sokol!
The Falcon is an ancient coral reef 474 m high. Today, we plan to get to the top! After all, it is from here that an incredible panorama opens: a green bay of the New World with elegant sailboats, the beckoning Cape Kapchik and Rhinoceros, the Sudak fortress and the silent Cape Meganom.
Having descended from the top, we will pass through the grove of juniper, past the pines of Stankevich, the cacti-puncios and go out to the source of St. Anastasia. Then along the old road of Prince Golitsyn we will go down to the village of New World.

Day 4

Mount Percham.
Perchem is the highest mountain in the vicinity of Sudak (576 m). It stretches a whole ridge and has not one, but several peaks. From the Turkic language "Perch" is translated as "hryva" or "chubchik". On one of the tops of the mountain grow trees, which from a height exactly resemble a fish!
On the pedestrian route we will meet the ruins of the ancient Byzantine monastery and the Labyrinth of cosmic intelligence. A labyrinth is a large spiral made of stones. They say he grants wishes. Check it out!
On the way, from the observation points of Perchem, we will admire the beautiful views of the Sudak valley and the Genoese fortress, which looks very spectacular against the sea background. In May, when the sea warms up, a slight mist sometimes hangs over it. In those days, the effect is created that the Fortress seems to hover in the clouds, very spectacular!

Day 5

Cape Megan.
Cape Meganom is very loved by tourists who are used to relaxing in the wild corners of the Crimea. After all, there is silence, beauty, cozy coves, crystal clear sea and mysterious places of power. Some tourists claim to have seen ghosts here, others have observed UFOs in this place.
Our route along Cape Meganom will pass along the sea coast, we will see the sandy “penitent monks”, look into the Sharkfin Bay and admire the man-made Temple of the Sun and the mysterious places of Meganom painted with colors.
Active part of the route: 12.1 km, height difference of 20-110 m, route duration of 6-7 hours.

Day 6

The Echki-Dag mountain range.
The mountain range Echki-Dag is located at the very shore of the Black Sea, close to the resort village of Koktebel. From the Turkic language its name is translated as “goat mountain”.
Today we will walk along the paths of this mountain range and admire the eastern Crimea from new angles. Rising to the top of the ridge, you can look at the Black Sea and the mysterious statues of the ancient volcano Kara-Dag for a very long time.
On the mountain range there is also a cave with the unusual name “Ear of the Earth”. Ancient legend says that the cave reaches the heart of the Earth. It is as if the planet wants to know what is happening on its surface.

Day 7

Genoese fortress.
One of the visiting cards of the city of Sudak is the Genoese fortress of the XIV-XV century. It rises above the steep cliffs on Mount Fortress.
The fortress is perfectly preserved to this day, excursions are held daily on its territory. During the walk through the fortress, we will pass through the 4-meter entrance gate of Santa Croce, see the defensive rampart, ancient guns, the mysterious Maiden Tower at the very top of the cliff, the consular castle and the Padishah-Jami mosque.
In addition, from the fortress we will have a view of all the routes covered: the cozy Cape Alchak, the impregnable rock Sokol, the hilly Perch and the unsurpassed New World!

Transfer by minibus to Simferopol.
14:00 – arrival at the bus station Sudak.
16:00-16:30 – arrival at the airport and the railway station in Simferopol.
Return tickets should be purchased for transport departing from Simferopol after 18:00.

Depending on weather conditions, physical condition of participants and other factors, excursion routes can be changed.
