City of Vyazma: The first mention of it dates back to 1239.

Once there was a powerful fortress and a wooden palace of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich. The former greatness of the Vyazem land now resembles only one surviving tower of the Vyazem Kremlin – the Spasskaya Tower.

During its history, the city has repeatedly defended the Russian state: in countless battles with the Lithuanian Principality and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and in the war with the Grand Army of Napoleon, and in a fierce struggle against the German fascist invaders. In memory of the past military pages of the history of the city, in Vyazma there are many monuments and memorials that we will see: a monument to valiant ancestors (heroes of 1812), a monument to the Pernovsky Regiment, a stele "City of Military Glory", a monument to the commander of the 33rd army, Lieutenant-General M. G. Efremov, a memorial "The Godroditsky Field", where there was "Vyazemsky Cauldron" and many others.

In addition, we will see monuments to such famous people as A. Dargomyzhsky, P. Nakhimov, A. Papanov. and unusual monuments - the shadow of M. Bulgakov, the monument to the steam locomotive Ash-4290, the monument to the Lapthu!

During the tour of Vyazma Mv we will see the Holy Trinity Cathedral and the St. John-Predechensky women's monastery, on the territory of which there is one of the masterpieces of stone architecture - the three tent church of Odigitria of the XVII century. The only monument in the Smolensk region under the protection of UNESCO.

A tour of the historic center
We will see monuments to the heroes of the Patriotic War of 1812, among which it is especially necessary to note the monument to the heroes of the Smolensk battle. You will get acquainted with the stunning architectural ensemble of the Cathedral Hill and you will visit the grandiose Assumption Cathedral - a symbol of Smolensk and the place of acquiring one of the most outstanding Orthodox shrines of the Smolensk region and the whole of Russia. It is here that the list of the miraculous icon of the Smolensk Mother of God Odigitry is kept - a wonderful defender and patroness of Smolensk. The magnificent huge (31 meters high!) Baroque iconostasis of the cathedral fascinates with its beauty. You will visit the square of memory of heroes - the monument "Grateful Russia to the Heroes of 1812", monuments to M.I. Glinka, A.T. Tvardovsky. Walk through the Central Park Lopatinsky Garden where the Bastion of the 17th century is located. Visit the Blogna Garden, the oldest garden in the city.
Ancient Smolensk
Visit the existing churches of the 12th century - unique buildings preserved and with stunning architecture. These are the churches of Peter and Paul, John the Theologian and Michael the Archangel (Svirskaya)
We will drive to the eastern section of the wall, the best preserved here are 9 towers in a row and here is the Abramiyaev Monastery. The oldest monastery of the city, in the walls of which stuck the core released during the siege of the city by Napoleon. I will tell you about the fortress, we will see how it is arranged and see the largest tower, which is associated with many legends and mystical stories.
Smolensk neighborhood
We will visit Talashkino (18km from Smolensk) - the estate of Princess Maria Klavdievna Tenisheva. The greatest Russian philanthropist
In Talashkino gathers the whole color of Russian art. Together with children in the School of Crafts created Vrubel, Korovin, Repin, Levitan, Nesterov, Malyutin. Here they found shelter and were inspired creatively by Serov and Benois, Chaliapin and Diaghilev, Roerich, Stravinsky. It is here, in Talashkino, the composer Arensky composes and dedicates Tenisheva a magnificent romance on the words of P. I. Tchaikovsky (!) “Landysh”. By the way, Tenisheva was also well acquainted with Tchaikovsky. Contemporaries called the creative association of great geniuses in Talashkino Russian Florence. Inspired by the ideas of the revival of true Russian applied art, Maria Tenisheva erected a stunning temple of the Holy Spirit in Flenovo in 1905. This unique structure was designed by the talented princess herself, in many ways inspired and supported by her close friend, Nicholas Roerich.
On the way back we will stop at the Katyn memorial complex.
and the largest burial mound of the 7-9 centuries of Gnezdovo there are more than 4500 mounds of finds from which are stored in the Hermitage and the Moscow Historical Museum.
