Description:
Estate Rai is located in the Smolensk region, in the Smolensk district. Its distance from Smolensk, in the south-west direction, is only 6 kilometers. The owner of the estate Vonlyarsky, who distinguished himself in Suvorov campaigns, received him in gratitude, for services to the fatherland. It was to hikes that this picturesque area was called Paradise. The architect of the creation of the estate was M. N. Slepnev.
This estate was a plot of irregular shape, to a greater extent, stretched to the south-east side. Almost the entire territory occupied by the park, a beautiful lake and the building of the Kazan Church. This church was built in 1814-1818, in the style of classicism, in honor of the victory of the Russian army over Napoleon.
Unfortunately, to date, all residential buildings and outbuildings have been destroyed by time, but the stone church of the icon of the Kazan Mother of God is a landmark that has survived to this day.
