214552, Russia, Smolensk region, Smolensk district, Syr-Lipki village.

Description:

The Syr-Lipka estate is located in the Smolensk district, Smolensk region, on the left bank of the Jerespei River. Thirty-five kilometers separate this area to the north of the city of Smolensk, where the trade route from the Varangians to the Greeks once passed. In ancient times, this village was called Syrokornsky Lipki and had the status of a volost center. In 1859 the population was 139 men and 124 women and there were 26 households. In pre-revolutionary times there were two Orthodox churches. The real event was two annual fairs.

Unfortunately, there is no exact information about its creators, it is only known that in the XIX century the owner of this estate was the landowner G. M. Tikhanovsky (1800-1861). Nim was built a large brick two-storey house, an architectural project, which is composed in the style of late classicism. On the south side of the facade of the rectangular building, a balcony is attached, its heavy twisted iron grille, at the same time was an ornament. Under the balcony was an extensive semicircular terrace lined with flowers and shrubs. In general, the owners paid much attention to their park, with a pond where beautiful well-groomed trees, mainly linden trees, grew on the alleys.

Now the former estate of Syr-Lipka serves as a monument of architecture and monumental art of Russia.
