About the company:

The Kardymov Museum of Local History was opened in May 1990.

It was created partly on the basis of the Kardymov High School Museum, which was opened on June 13, 1964 under the guidance of teacher Philip Prokopyevich Mudrichenko and school director Leonid Grigorievich Ulenkov.

The first director of the museum was Valentina Matskevich. The museum had 5 exposition halls: in the first hall an exposition was decorated about the history of the region from antiquity to the war of 1812, in the second hall it was told about ethnography and churches of the district, the third and fourth halls were dedicated to Heroes of the Soviet Union and veterans of the Great Patriotic War - natives of the Kardymovsky district, in the fifth hall the exposition "Sea vessels to be" was decorated.

In 2002, an exposition of dolls Vera Iovna Yakovleva, who is a member of the Union of Designers of Russia, was opened in the lobby of the museum. In 2003, one of the halls of the museum was converted into an exhibition hall, where exhibitions are updated monthly. In 2009, at the expense of entrepreneurs of the village of Kardymovo, deputy of the Regional Duma E.I. Maksimenko and xylograph artist A.T. Zaitsev, an exposition of woodcut works was opened.

In 2010, the museum staff developed virtual tours of the events of the Patriotic Wars of 1812, 1941-1945.

Currently, the museum is expanding the range of its activities and searching for new forms of work to transform the museum from a place of obtaining additional knowledge and viewing expositions into an institution with a special aesthetic atmosphere.
