Hill-Zhirkov Historical and Local Lore Museum

Municipal budget institution of culture "Holm-Zhirkov Historical and Local Lore Museum" was established in 2006.

In its structure, it has two museums: the local history museum in Moscow. Holm-Zhirkovskiy and branch-museum-memorial of combat glory of the 166th Infantry Division and the Vadin partisan region in Verkhovye Holm-Zhirkovskiy district.

The funds of the institution include 6385 items, including: the main fund - 2321 storage units, scientific and auxiliary fund - 4064 storage units.

The museum has collections: “Numismatics”, “Archaeology”, “Ethnography”, “Objects of Applied Art”, “Documents”, “Photographs”, “Books”, “Weapon”. Museum collections are constantly replenished.

The activities of museums are an important part of the cultural life of the region. Museums are the only cultural institutions that are the source of the most important historical information about the district, are engaged in the study, collection, exhibition and systematization of these materials, contribute to the improvement of the moral and cultural level of the population of the district. Museums are active in the public life of the area.

Proceeding from the functions of the institution, the work is carried out in several areas: scientific-educational, scientific-fund, research, scientific-methodical, exposition-exhibition and the work of the district club of local historians “Istok”.
