Komsomol Square in the city of Sochi

Description:

A relaxing holiday in Sochi is a walk through Komsomolsky Square – the oldest square in the city. In the park, the reconstruction of the tracks was carried out, the fountain “Two anchors” by sculptor Viktor Glukhov was installed. The composition of the fountain consists of two authentic anchors made at the Votkinsky plant in the first half of the XIX century and used on the warships of the Russian fleet. Divers of the floating squad No7 of the Novorossiysk Morstroy trust raised them from the bottom of the sea on the Khost-Kudepst traverse in the early 1960s. Historians believe that the anchors were removed from ships that sank during a severe storm on the night of May 31, 1838.
