Platana alley in the city of Sochi

Description:
The plane alley is a wide pedestrian road, on a huge territory of which plane trees are planted. It is an integral part of the resort. Platan Avenue is located in the city of Sochi, Krasnodar Territory and is its main attraction.
The alley covers about 250 meters and connects the park with the sea coast. On both sides of it are planted 60 Western Platans, Lavrovishnya medicinal and Samshit evergreen, listed in the Red Book. The age of plane trees is more than 100 years, the diameter of the trunks exceeds one and a half meters.
The alley is built on the site of the Craft Lane.
Its grand opening was on April 2, 1913 and was dedicated to the three-hundredth anniversary of the House of Romanov. In 1993, due to the close passage of the heating line, some of the trees died, but replanted. Today, the Platan Avenue is recognized as a monument of landscape art.
