Description:
Every year on February 14, millions of lovers celebrate Valentine’s Day. Only now they forget that we have our own holiday and saints, patronizing family and love. Peter and Fevronia fell in love. But Peter of Murom was a prince and it was wrong for him to marry a peasant Febronia. The boyar nobility did not accept such a marriage and set the prince a condition: either the throne or a peasant woman. However, the feelings were so strong that Peter refused regalia and chose family happiness.
The monument to Peter and Fevronia in Sochi was created by Konstantin Chernyavsky. The heroes of the legend embrace a tree on which a family of pigeons made a nest. Peter and Febronia are dressed in monastic robes.
