Sochi River

One of the rivers of Greater Sochi (the third largest). The source takes near Krasnaya Polyana, the length is 45 km. The mouth is located at the sanatorium "Caucasian Riviera". Since about 15 kilometers before the mouth of the river, the terrain becomes more gentle, here it flows more calmly along a wide floodplain with five-meter bottom layers.

At the confluence of its tributary to Sochi, there are beautiful waterfalls with a height difference of 35 meters, there are them on the Sochi itself, which for several times "falls" from different heights.

The river valley is mainly covered with forests - fir-spruce in the upper reaches, broadleaf in the lower. Like most mountain rivers, it often spills during summer rains.

In Sochi itself is surrounded by embankments, and sometimes hides in the surrounding greenery, it is very pleasant to walk along its banks. Locals call it Sochi, and in the Black Sea it flows in the Central district of the city of Sochi.
