Sochi

Sochi Commercial Seaport

Description:

At the end of the 19th century, two marinas were built in Sochi, but they could only accept sailing ships. The piers, built poorly, were constantly destroyed, they had to be restored.

Sochi grew, developed as a resort and required the development of communication routes. The largest sea trading port on the Black Sea coast was established in 1934.

The port was constantly being reconstructed, and twenty years later, in 1954, foreign ships began to call in Sochi.

It survived the pier and hard times in the 90s of the last century, but in 2000 the construction of the international passenger terminal was completed.

Now the largest Black Sea port receives around the clock and year-round ships from around the world. The sea station is very convenient for receiving tourists. On its territory there are cafes, shops, souvenir shops, and it is also equipped with free WiFi.

You can get to the port from the railway station on foot in 10-15 minutes. If you want to take a walk on the sea, then excursion and pleasure boats are at your service.

Everyone knows the film Leonid Gaidai “Diamond Arm”, the scene of the farewell of the main character to the family was filmed here.
