Ajek Falls
Krasnodar Territory, Sochi, Khostinsky District, Orekhovka village
Description:
Located on the river Azhek in the place of its confluence in Sochi. Azhek, which means “snow son” in squirrel, is one of the most picturesque waterfalls of the Sochi district. According to sources, its age is about 50 thousand years. By the way, there is not one waterfall, but as many as four, but they are at a fairly large distance from each other. If desired, the entire route between them is quite easy to walk, especially since from the center of Sochi to the mouth of the river Azhek only 15 kilometers. At the foot of the first waterfall there is a small lake, and around - a shallow canyon covered with vegetation. You can walk over a small wooden bridge. The river and waterfalls are surrounded by a forest in which boxwood, yew and Pitsunda pine grow.
You can get there from the village of Orekhovka, to which there is a bus No. 102.
