Sanatorium named after Frunze in Sochi

d. Sochi, st. Resort Avenue, 87

About the company:

The sanatorium was created on the basis of private nationalized dachas.

On July 15, 1922, the Sochi resort management opened a sanatorium named after M. V. Frunze at these dachas, which accepted for rest and treatment the first seventy vacationers from among party workers and former convicts. The sanatorium was administered by the association "Sochi-Matsestein resort".

During the war, hospitals No. 2117 (August 1941 – August 1942) and No. 3213 (June 1943 – June 1945) were deployed on the basis of the sanatorium. Since June 1945, the sanatorium resumed its activities.

Subsequent reorganizations and reassignments were carried out within the framework of the Sochi group of sanatoriums and rest homes of the Administration of Affairs of the Central Committee of the CPSU. In December 1972, for achieving the highest results in the All-Union competition, in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the formation of the USSR, the staff of the sanatorium was awarded the anniversary badge of honor. By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 15, 1982, the sanatorium named after M. V. Frunze for the successes achieved in the organization of treatment and rest of workers was awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples in the year of the 60th anniversary of its foundation.

At all times, the sanatorium was a place of rest for employees of Soviet and party bodies, heads of large enterprises of the USSR, foreign delegations of communist and workers' parties of different countries. The sanatorium named after M.V. Frunze has traditionally been a recreation center of the Soviet cosmonauts.

At different times there were guests: Fedor Chaliapin, Yuri Gagarin, Luis Corvalan, ...

Since 1992, the sanatorium has been an Open Joint Stock Company.

Our doors are now open to everyone, and the staff is still hospitable, attentive, and traditionally courteous towards their vacationers!
