Waterfall hunters
Description:
Waterfalls are unique monuments of nature, which are the result of the joint activity of Water, Stone and Water.
Air.
In Finnish Karelia, the waterfall is called “cats”.
Among the many Ladoga waterfalls, the most famous waterfall is Yukankoski or White Bridges (by the way, from December 15, the waterfall is rumored to be paid), also from the episodes of the film “And the Dawns Are Quiet Here”, we know Ruskeal waterfalls on the Tohmayoki River. But on this the fame of our Ladoga waterfalls almost ends.
There is still no answer to the question: how many waterfalls in the country?
I'll show you 6 waterfalls in one day! All of them are different, but surprisingly beautiful and picturesque, waterfalls are little-known. Around preserved virgin Karelian beauty ...
1.Very picturesque waterfall Minutka or the waterfall of Happiness (Onenkoski) in the area of Impilakhti. Why happiness?! According to Finnish maps, there is Onnenkoski. The land around - Onnela - the land (-la-) that this was the farm of happiness!
The waterfall is located between the Vitalammenoya Creek and Lake Hakalampi.
Come on, luckily!
2. Dairy Falls or Bride Fata (Roskelankoski) It flows from the lakes. "" Andronino. The water in the lake is transparent. The flow of water, falling from the ledge, is saturated with oxygen, and the water of the waterfall has the color of milk. Amazingly beautiful waterfall!
3. Pyuhinkoski (cascade on the Pucamonjoki River)
The name of the waterfall translates as “ruffler”. So in Karelia, all such waterfalls are called, the jets of which throw numerous piles of stones and throw them from place to place. The river Pucamonjoki flows in a picturesque place - in the frame of the forest, among the stones covered with white water foam. It forms a 40-meter cascade consisting of several ledges of different heights.
4 Lower Koirinoya Falls.
One of the most beautiful waterfalls of the Northern Ladoga region is located on the Koirinjoki River in the Pitkärant district. In Finnish, Koirinjoki means Dog Creek. The waterfall is called differently - for example, Strawberry (near the waterfall on the rocks there are many strawberries), or Lower Koyrinoya (the Upper waterfall is three kilometers upstream). The height of the waterfall is small - only 4 meters, however, given the fact that the river water rapidly falls along the sheer granite wall, the sight is very impressive.
5. "Mill Falls" or Upper Koyrinoya
It is located on the border of the village with the same name. The waterfall is half man-made and represents the threshold on which the hydroelectric power station was built. The remains of the dam are still clearly visible. The height of the waterfall is about 5 meters.
6. Hihniikoski Falls
A small and not very popular waterfall is located near the highway, in the wilderness, on the river Hiihnijoki. In addition to its official name, it has another – “May 9”, as the locals call it. In the last century, the Finns built a hydroelectric power station here. The height of the water fall is 5 meters.
Throughout the tour, I will tell you about each waterfall separately and show you unique Finnish photos of these waterfalls 100 years ago.
