Active tour of winter Karelia

We invite you on a tour, where we will visit the most iconic places of the Northern Ladoga region, get acquainted with famous sights and visit such corners of this region, about which few people know.

Lush waterfalls, noisy rivers, marble rocks, mysterious boulders covered with mosses, views of the endless taiga and clean air with the smell of needles. Two days you will spend in this fairy tale, living in a comfortable cottage with a Finnish sauna.

Detailed program and tour timing

FIRST DAY

• 08:50 — Collection near the Crossroads on the metro station Ozerki in St. Petersburg
• 09:00 - Departure to Karelia
• 12:30 – 14:00 – visit eco-park “Valley of waterfalls”. Walk along the hiking trail along the banks of the Ijoki River with noisy waterfalls and stormy rapids. Get acquainted with the life of the ancient Sami and visit the deer farm, where you can feed and pet these cute animals.
• 15:00 lunch at the cafe. Taste the national Karelian cuisine (ear on cream and wickets)
• 15:00 – 16:00 Visit to the half-abandoned church “Kirche Lumivaara”. The local curator of the church will give us a tour and take us to the pillar, from where you will have a breathtaking view of the surrounding area.
• 16:40 – 18:40 Visit the Viking Fortress – Bastion Historic Park
• 19:00 – Accommodation in cottages not far from the city of Sortavala
• 19:30 - dinner, kebabs, sauna.

DAY TWO

• 8:30 – Breakfast, departure on transfer from the cottage.
• 9:30 – 12:30 Visit to the “Paso town”. Paaso is a little-known landmark near the town of Sortavala in Karelia. This is a historical monument that stores memories of ancient Karelians, and a picturesque place with beautiful views. We are waiting for a light trek to the mountain and a photo shoot at the top.
• 12:50 – Lunch in the cafe
• 14:30 – 16:30 – Visit to the Ruskeala Mountain Park. Dizzying photos and unforgettable impressions await you on the route along suspended rope bridges stretched directly over the waterfalls!!! Mountain Park "Ruskeala" is a real pearl of Karelia. One of the main attractions, striking with its beauty at any time of the year. This is a huge park with a bizarre relief, evergreen forests, paths and unusual locations, and in the heart of its business card is the Marble Canyon. This is a large, elongated lake with sheer banks of real marble, which are reflected in the crystal clear water. We will walk around the canyon, learn its history and observe the beauty of Karelian nature, which with each step will open from a new angle.
• 16:30 – 22:00 – return to St. Petersburg
