House-Museum of K. G. Paustovsky
d. Old Crimea, Karl Liebknecht St., 31.
About the company:
Konstantin Paustovsky first came to Old Crimea in 1934. Since then, this Crimean town has firmly entered his life. In May 1938, he wrote: All Old Crimea is in bloom, in blossoming nuts and chestnuts ... incredible air, very fragrant, soft and transparent. I'm working. It is very good to work in the garden ...” The fate, personal life and work of K. G. Paustovsky (1892-1968) are closely connected with Cimmeria. He lived for a long time in the Crimea, repeatedly visited the House of the Poet, Crimean motifs are often present on the pages of his works. Under the impression of Feodosia, the stories “Lost Day”, “Timid Heart” were written. The cocktail sounds in the stories "Silent sound", "Blue", "Meeting".
Old Crimea is dedicated to the chapters of the story “Black Sea” and others. “A place where I wanted to stop time, so as not to lose the feeling of youth,” the writer felt. And in the story "Sineva" wrote: "Eastern Crimea was full of flowering and silence." It was a special closed country, unlike all other parts of Crimea. In 1949, during a trip to the Crimea with his future wife T. A. Evteeva Paustovsky wrote in his diary: "Straight to the Old Crimea ..." All the same sense of fairy tale, with Tanya to Greene's house... Greene would have blessed our love. The writer’s childhood and youth passed in Kiev, matured in Moscow, the city where he was born. Paustovsky traveled a lot and wrote about it in his works. He is considered a singer of Russian nature. However, with full confidence we can talk about the Crimea as a small homeland of the writer.
The house-museum of K. G. Paustovsky in Old Crimea was opened in 2005 by the efforts of Honored Worker of Culture of Crimea N. S. Sadovskaya, patrons, the government of the ARC and the directorate of the reserve "Cimmeria M. A. Voloshin". In 2009, the estate was completely restored. The museum is in a house with a shady old garden. The writer stayed here in 1949. In confirmation of this, an original open-air exposition was created – a wonderful garden, in which quotes from Paustovsky’s works are presented. It's like the writer himself telling the visitor about his favorite corner. In four halls, the typological interior of a provincial philistine house of the early twentieth century is recreated, an exposition is unfolded telling about the life and creative path of Paustovsky. In May 2007, a memorial plaque was opened on the house of the environmental monitoring station of the Karadag Nature Reserve, where in the early 1950s K. G. Paustovsky lived, who often visited M. S. Voloshyna.
