About the company:
The small shady town of Old Crimea inspired the work of many famous artists, poets, writers rather with its atmosphere - it worked well here. However, behind the entourage of beautiful nature, healing air and peace, it concealed the mysteries and realities of a turbulent centuries-old history. Maximilian Voloshin often walked here from Koktebel; he and his guests called the forest road across the hills “Grinovskaya”. The Old Crimean Literary and Art Museum is located in the estate of the late nineteenth century, created in the style of South Russian classicism. On the pediment of the building there is a tin plaque with the inscription: "Insured in Warsaw society".
The institution of 1870”. An interesting house with powerful walls and a complicated history. Employees of the museum are searching for its owners. There is a version that the merchant and philanthropist Yakov Kurkuzaki lived in it, but perhaps it belonged to relatives of I. S. Turgenev. Until 1917, the building housed a merchant’s meeting, then a teachers’ seminary. During the Great Patriotic War, the Germans placed the Gestapo in it, and after 1945 the house was occupied by the Starokrymsky hill of the Komsomol and the party hill. Since the 1980s, a kindergarten has been located within its walls. In 1996, the house was transferred to the Old Crimean Historical and Literary Museum, created on the stock materials of the transformed local history museum and the liquidated Old Crimea reserve. Later, the museum was renamed as a literary and artistic museum. In 2001, it became part of the reserve "Cimmeria M. A. Voloshin".
