Central Park in the city of Stavropol
d. Stavropol, st. Dzerzhinski, 100
Description:
A real green pearl of Stavropol and a favorite resting place of citizens is the Central Park, located in the city center on an area of 12 hectares. The history of the park began more than 150 years ago and is closely connected with the history of the city. Among the locals there is a legend that during their visits to Stavropol, great Russian writers strolled along the green alleys of the park - A.S. Pushkin, M.Y. Lermontov, A.S. Griboyedov.
The alleys of the park are unique - majestic chestnuts grow everywhere, planted using a special technology - during planting in one hole two or three trees were planted, which in the process of growth fused together, combined into bizarre forms. Everywhere you can find original floral compositions: vases, a fountain of flowers. Several flower beds are decorated in a certain theme - "Airship" and "Aeroplane" are dedicated to the first human flights, and "Varyag" and "Korean" - in honor of the heroes of the Japanese War. The park is replete with grottoes and decorative ponds.
Employees and the administration of the park try to make every effort not only to create a pleasant atmosphere of recreation, but also to preserve the Central Park as a monument of nature and history with its best traditions.
