From Alushta to Sudak and the New World
Description:
During the day, we will pass along the most, perhaps, picturesque seaside road of the southern coast of Crimea - from Alushta to Sudak and further, if you wish, to the Sun Valley and the New World (or in the opposite direction, depending on the location of your location). Our tour will begin with an auto-pedestrian tour of the city of Alushta - one of the most famous Crimean resorts. Here you will learn about the history of the emergence and development of the resort, which became popular among the Russian creative intelligentsia at the end of the XIX century, who built cottages here in the area, later received the appropriate name - Professor's Corner. We will walk to the dacha “Golubka” of General Golubov, who witnessed the meeting in 1894 of the Grand Duke, heir to the throne Nikolai Alexandrovich with his bride Princess Alice of Hesse-Darmstadt. Let’s look at the temples with unusual architectural solutions, walk down the stairs, which Ninochka descended in the famous comedy Gaidai “Caucasian Prisoner”.
On the winding serpentine of Alushta-Sudak, we will admire the coastal beams and mountain peaks, take good photos on a couple of viewing sites. We will stop at the Church of St. Nicholas in Malorechenskoye, 25 km east of Alushta – a unique lighthouse church operating since 2007, standing directly above the sea, the tallest church in the Crimea. If desired, we will visit a couple of villages to see the features of the old Crimean Tatar buildings, winding streets and spreading fruit trees.
In Sudak we will visit the Genoese fortress - the largest among all the Genoese fortresses of the Crimea, besides partially restored and reconstructed.
Then, at your request, we will move to the Sunny Valley, where we will move to the C. Sunny Valley (Kyoz) will be able to see the oldest of the active temples of the Crimea - the Temple of Elijah the Prophet (IX century), as well as visit the ancient cellars of the winery "Sunny Valley" (one of the oldest wineries in the Crimea, founded in 1888 by one of the founders of Russian winemaking Prince Lev Golitsin in the estate "Arkhaderese"), taste the wines produced here, as well as cheeses located nearby a small private cheese factory. Or we will pass to the village of Novy Svet (Paradiz) - one of the most picturesque resort towns of the Crimea, also arose thanks to the efforts of Golitsin. Here you can walk along the Golitsinsky trail, passing through the relict groves of juniper and endemic pine of the Stankevich Novosvetsky reserve over the Green, Blue and Blue bays.
