Journey through the Russian Baltic
Description:
Amber, Svetlogorsk and not only ...
Excursion by car, walking. The Baltic coast of the Kaliningrad region can be safely called an amber mascot. Everyone who traveled in these parts takes with them unforgettable impressions, the smell of the Baltic Sea and pines, memories of streets literally soaked in amber, and amber jewelry that will protect you, your children and grandchildren from diseases, evil spirits, envy and anger. After all, amber does not lose its color, does not crumble like pearls in a hundred years, but becomes more beautiful and expensive over the years. The world’s largest amber deposit (about 90% of world reserves) is located near the village of Yantarny on the Baltic Sea coast. In April 2016, the beach in Amber was the first in Russia to receive the Blue Flag. The international award goes to coastal areas that meet the requirements for high water quality, safety and environmental standards. Amber is not only an amber quarry, the only one in the world, you can see the old Anna mine, a beautifully preserved church, an ancient castle, a beautiful German park with an exotic tulip tree.
Our tour continues in the city of Svetlogorsk. This is the largest resort on the Baltic coast of Russia, forty kilometers north-west of the city of Kaliningrad. In 1999, Svetlogorsk was recognized as a resort of federal importance. The city is located in a forest park zone. Every building here is embedded in the forest. This city has long attracted tourists, not only because it was on the shores of the Baltic Sea. I will be glad to show you all the sights and tell you many interesting things about the past and present of the wonderful resort town.
