Pervomayskaya street, 56, Syktyvkar, Republic of Komi
About the company:
The Academic Drama Theater of the Komi Republic in Syktyvkar was founded by playwright and director V. Savin in October 1930. The first troupe consisted of graduates of theatrical universities of Moscow, Leningrad, Yaroslavl and Ufa. In 2010, graduates of the St. Petersburg State Academy of Theatre Arts joined the troupe. During its existence in the theater there were two people's artists of the USSR - Ivan Ivanovich Avramov and Glafira Petrovna Sidorov.
The most famous production on the stage of the theater was the play by Nikolai Dyakonov "Wedding with a dowry", staged for the first time entirely in Komi language. The rest of the repertoire of the theater consists of classic works by Chekhov, Shakespeare and modern works such as "Sleigh, Vanya, with them Rimas" and "Circle Square". A separate place in the repertoire is occupied by national dramaturgy. In 1918, Victor Savin organized a troupe of stage lovers for which he wrote the drama “Yjid Myzh”, which is still accepted by the audience with delight.
