About the company:
The State Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Komi Republic in Syktyvkar was founded in August 1958. The opening of the theater was marked by the premiere of the musical performance “Eugene Onegin” by Tchaikovsky, which became the pearl of Russian opera classics. The first difficulties in the formation of the theater were survived thanks to its first leader B. Dainek, who was not only a talented organizer, but also a great vocalist and actor. With his colleagues and associates, he managed to turn the provincial musical theater into a prominent institution of culture and art.
Today, stars of Russian and European scale often perform on the stage of the opera and ballet theater. Every year, within the framework of theatrical activities, festivals "Syktyvkar Spring" and "Golden Swallows" are held.
