About the company:
The National Music and Drama Theatre of the Komi Republic is located in Syktyvkar. It was created relatively recently - in 1992. A distinctive feature of the theater is that all performances of the theater are held only in Komi language with simultaneous interpretation in the Russian-speaking public. The repertoire of the theater is selected in such a way that the performances combine classical dramatic art and the vocal and instrumental heritage of the folklore of the Komi people. The first performances of the theater were productions of Enkolayas Yılys Poem (Poem about temples) and Viservozhsa Gage (Viservozh festivals).
The originality of the national theater lies in the performances created on the basis of folklore materials, Komi folk epic, songs and rituals. At the same time, the repertoire of the theater is represented by a variety of genres - folk drama, musical and epic poem, musical comedy and mythological tale. In addition to professional dramatic artists, the troupe includes the folklore and ethnographic ensemble "Parma".
As part of his theatrical activities, the International Finno-Ugric Festival of Theatre Creativity for Children and Youth "En Dzird" (Divine spark) is held under him.
