The Ust-Tsilem Museum has been conducting its history since the beginning of the twentieth century. In 1906, the first research institution in the European North of Russia was opened - the Pechora natural-historical station, which was a museum. In 1964, a state museum was opened in Ust-Tsilma. In his funds transferred exhibits of the museum station. It has unique furniture and a library. The village of Ust-Tsilma is one of the centers of Old Believers with a unique ancient Russian culture. The museum has a good collection of icons and handwritten books. |
