Paustovsky House-Museum in Tarus
ooh Proletarian, 2, Tarusa, Kaluga Region
About the company:
Paustovsky House Museum in Tarus is the only memorial museum in Russia dedicated to Paustovsky. It opened in 2012.
Paustovsky lived in this house and by will was buried in Tarus. Now the house has fully recreated the atmosphere of the 50-60s of the twentieth century with the personal belongings of the writer, which are in his office. In 2010, a fire broke out in Paustovsky’s house, but fortunately all its consequences were eliminated. Another restoration was carried out in early 2013.
This museum is small, with several rooms, but gives the impression of coziness and home comfort. It is also worth taking into account the severity of the caretakers who forbid touching the exhibits.
The museum operates on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 to 18 hours. Here you can visit the memorial complex, garden and gazebo. Ordering excursions is also available.
