Timashev Museum of the Stepanov Family

About the company:

The Timashevsky Museum of the Stepanov family was opened in 1970 as a folk museum, since 1975 it has been a branch of the Krasnodar Historical and Archaeological Museum - the E.D. Felitsyn Reserve. This is one of the “Pearls of the Kuban”, the center of heroic and patriotic education, the only museum in Russia telling about the feat of Epistinia’s mother Fedorovna Stepanova, whose nine sons gave their lives during the Civil and Great Patriotic Wars.

The museum is unique. No one who visited the museum remains indifferent to the tragic fate of the mother, who put on the altar of the Fatherland the most precious - the lives of her sons.
The museum has four exposition halls: one of the halls tells about the history of the resettlement of Zaporozhye Cossacks to the Kuban and traditional domestic culture, the second about the “Greatness and pain of the Stepanov family”, the third about the heroes of the Timashevskaya land, the “Mother’s Glory” hall is in its completion.
In 1982, a memorial house-museum of the Stepanov family was opened at the Olkhov farm (formerly the First May farm). In this picturesque steppe corner the family lived from 1939 to 1964. Here visitors can get acquainted with the life and life of the family in the pre-war period. In the administrative building there is an exhibition "Slavic dwelling" late 19th and early 20th centuries.
In 1966, Moscow filmmakers: director Pavel Rusanov and cameraman Boris Karpov created the documentary The Word About One Russian Mother. At the V International Film Festival in 1967 in Moscow, this film won a silver prize. And at the International Film Festival in Monte Carlo in 1968, he was awarded the highest prize - "Golden Nymph".
Next to the Stepanov family museum, the memorial square named after the 40th anniversary of the Victory is the heart of the city, the keeper of the memory of all the events of the country that touched every citizen of our country. Here is the alley of the Tymashev Heroes of the Soviet Union, a memorial to the defenders of the city who died during the Civil and Great Patriotic War. There is also a monument to E.F. Stepanova, made by Moscow architect L. Golubovsky, sculptor O. Komov and O. Kiryukhin, from the workshop of Professor A. Tomsky.
