Ershova Square in Tobolsk

d. Tobolsk, Semyon Remezov St

Description:

One of the most interesting and popular places in Tobolsk is the square of the storyteller P. P. Ershov, opened on the day of the 420th anniversary of the city. In the middle of 2008, the authorities of Tobolsk took up the issue of the improvement of this square, it was decided to decorate it with sculptures based on the famous fairy tale “Humpbacked Horse”.

The sculptural composition depicts a young Ershov, who proudly stands with the feather of a firebird in his hands. Not far from it is the figure of the Humpbacked Horse of dwarf size. Under the hooves and legs of the sculptures standing on the pedestal you can see the miracle Yudo Fish-Whale, on the back of which the Tobolsk Kremlin is knocked out.

Nowadays, all the fabulous sculptures of Ershov Square have an artistic illumination built in, creating a real enchanting show. There is also a beautiful fountain, arbors and comfortable wooden benches. This place is perfect for relaxing in a warm family or friendly circle.
