About the company:
One of the first in Siberia was founded the Tobolsk Museum, its creator was the Secretary of the provincial Committee of statistics Ivan Nikolaevich Yushkov. Despite the fact that the collection of the museum was replenished since 1870, the building for it began to be built only in 1887 at the expense of citizens. Three years after the completion of construction, it received the status of Governor. The museum was under the patronage of Nicholas II and was a real cultural center of Siberia.
Now there is an exposition, which shows all the stages of the formation of the museum business of this region. The most interesting exhibits are presented in the sections of archaeology and Tobolsk bone carving. The museum building has only 2 floors, the facade is made in the classical style, it is decorated with arched windows and a canopy on the columns, located above the entrance. On the site in front of the museum there is a monument, on it there are two statues of horses pulling an elegant open carriage.
